WALT to sequence and group similar ideas. It’s tricky trying to remember how it all happened and getting it in the right order. I feel like I need more practice.

Te Tuhi Colour Wheels
We went to Te Tuhi and we learnt about the colour wheel. We learned that the primary colours are blue, red and yellow. We learnt that secondary colours are green, orange and purple. We learnt about tertiary colours too! We painted lime green, red orange and red purple too. Some of us thought it was tricky and some of us thought it was easy. When we made our colour wheel lady bugs the curvy cutting was really tricky.

I Am Learning To Use The Word Folder
I like using the word folder. It helps me to spell the words correctly. I have circled the words in my weekend story that I found in the word folder. I am still getting used to what words I can find in the word folder!

I Am Learning To Draw A Cat
I used straight lines on the tail, small and big circles, and swirly lines and koru lines in the body. My favourite bit was doing the dye. It was easy and lots of fun.

I Am Learning About Fractions
I can show half of the flowers. I know half of a rectangle. I got my half and quarter symbol mixed but I usually know it. I know how to colour a quarter of the rectangle. I like fractions. I think they are easy!

I Am Learning To Read And Understand Different Endings On Root Words
I can identify root words and endings and I know that the ending changes the meaning of the root word. These sentences are from a book I read called Lollipop, the Old Car. I have circled the root words in green and the endings in red. Once my teacher explained it I found it easy to see root words and endings.

I Am Learning To Speak To An Audience
On Fridays we have Show & Tell and we can bring something from home to share with our class. When we are speaking our focus is using a loud, clear voice and looking at our audience. I showed our class my bracelet. I liked sharing news. Next time I will make sure everyone is looking at me before I start.
I Am Learning To Use Capital Letters And Full Stops
Our learning intention:
We are learning to use capital letters and full stops in the right places.
Our success criteria: Our sentences start with a capital letter - We have used a capital letter for the word ‘I’ - We have used a capital letter for names - We have used full stops at the end of our sentences.
My reflection: I used capital letters at the start of my sentences and for the word I. I used full stops in the right places. My next learning step is to use capital letters for names.

I Am Learning To Draw Myself
First, I sketched myself in my art book, making sure I included all of my features. Then Mrs Millar enlarged my drawing to A3 on the photocopier and I outlined it using a black vivid marker. I coloured my portrait in using pastels. It was tricky to choose the right colours for my hair and eyes!
Welcome to Room 11!
This is me in Room 11. On our Hive of Learning wall display I am a flower. We talked about learning and I said: “A good learner sits up straight and listens to the teacher. I love learning to add and write number sentences.”
